Elise Boularan

Elise Boularan

Elise Boularan (b. 1984) is a French photographer living and working between  Carcassonne and Montpellier, France. Her work blends documentary style with a poetic sensibility to tell stories about the contemporary human experience.

There is always something indefinable in Elise’s images and her particular way of capturing the zeitgeist of our times. Quickly shifting between the familiar and the unexpected, her series feel like an arranged flow of sounds and silences, brought together in perfect harmony.

Over the last decade, Elise worked on personal projects and collaborated with musicians and cultural icons, recording the mood of the arts in her unique aesthetics. Her work has been extensively published and exhibited in solo and group shows in Europe and the USA.
